Animal Farm

The author shows the rebel and struggle of animals against their human masters to establish a free, equal, and happy society for themselves.

Jane Eyre

Feminism is a rapidly growing ideal in today's era. But if we talk about the 19th century, this ideal would not be so prevailing, and yet there were stories ahead of their times like Jane Eyre.

This classic is a feminist ideology novel that shows us the everyday struggle of Jane Eyre. How she is forced to behave in a particular manner as was defined for the women of that era. She fights to gain an equal status, financial independence, harmless love, and a sense of belonging in a world that treats women as submissive to men.

The Great Gatsby

This classic presents a very deep message for today's world where everyone is running after money.  The dream of Jay Gatsby has been compared to 'the American dream' and both are shown to have the same fate.

It also presents the rich lives of the east coast upper class of long Island. How their lives are empty and morally decayed with no sense of ethics. The story shows love, betrayal, loneliness, and the fact that money can't buy you happiness.

Dracula

This is the story of a young man named Jonathan Harker who travels to the castle of Dracula to finalize a real estate deal with him. There he experiences and witnesses supernatural things, he didn't even imagine could exist.

Though vampires today have been romanticized, the original Bram Stoker's Dracula was a human bloodthirsty monster. So, this will be a journey to experience, especially for horror-thriller lovers.

Lord of the flies

This story will make anyone question if we can call ourselves 'sophisticated', 'civil', 'intelligent', and 'sane'.

This novel presents a very calm, serene, and beautiful visage at the beginning. But as it progresses, the calm turns into chaos, the serenity turns into insanity, and the beautiful setting soon turns into a war field.

To Kill a Mockingbird

The story focuses on many social issues but has been penned around the wrong accusation of a black male raping a white woman.

The tale throws light on racial inequality, prejudice, and the indictment of law, among many other. But it also presents the coexistence of good and evil, the importance of moral education, and how lying can be used to destroy or protect someone.

Pride and Prejudice

This romance is one of English literature's most beloved love stories till time. Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett look down on each other because of their 'pride.' And judge each other even before properly meeting due to the sin of 'prejudice.' They had to overcome many obstacles to have a happy ending, just like any good love story should.

The story also shows the rigid social themes such as gender inequality, class, reputation, toxic family values of that time. And The never-ending loop of "Pride and Prejudice".

Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights presents the destructive, never-changing love of Heathcliff and Catherine. However, the author doesn't present a definite perspective if they should be condemned or be idealized for it.

At a point in the story, we feel sympathy for Heathcliff but as the story progresses his behavior makes it hard for the reader to support him or even understand his mentality.

There are repetition and double presentation in the story that makes it that much more believable as it shows that history repeats itself. She also shows the futility of revenge and how it destroys everything.

But the best part is the author lets the readers perceive and understand the story in their way, without providing a definite perspective over things.

Little Women

Little Women shows the journey of four females from being little girls to become adult women. It throws light on women's struggle between personal growth and family duties. It is set in the 19th century where the gender gap was slowly decreasing. But despite this, gender stereotypes still prevailed.

Through the story of the four women, the author has presented four different ways a female can live a good life as a woman even if bound by society's constraints. Though the author has not shown one lifestyle to be superior to another, she has presented different perspectives for her readers.

1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four)

The ruling party in this fiction is the 'almighty' of the world. They hold the power to willingly start or stop a war. They hold the power to create, eliminate and even eradicate anyone and anything that poses a threat to them. They create and change history at their convenience.

The metaphor 'Information is power' comes to new life in this dystopian.

1984 shows us what would be humanity's fate if our whole lives were to be controlled by others.
